What's going on at Tritt....
*This week is early release/conference week. School will dismiss every day 2 hours early. There are no FAST classes. ASP will also still be open every day until 6:00 pm. I will send reminders for your individual conferences. The Scholastic book fair will also be taking place Monday- Thursday. Every morning 7:20-7:55 am and Monday - Tuesday 12:30-6:00 pm and Wednesday and Thursday 12:30-4:00 pm. *The Tritt-Mazing race kicked off with a great start! Moffett's Magnificent Muppets raised over $1200 for the first count day!! Thank you all for your support:) We reached our 1st and 2nd goal. We will do extra recess on Tuesday and then do our pajama and stuffed animal day on Wednesday. The next count day is Friday October 20th!! Thank you all again:) What's going on in 1st grade.... *Reading- We are working on comparing fiction and nonfiction books. We are comparing characteristics and differences in different books. *Math- We are working on subtraction strategies and then relating addition and subtraction with each other. *Science- We are wrapping up weather and beginning our study of magnets. We will be talking about vocabulary such as repel and attract. *Writing- We are finalizing some of our final narrative pieces from this quarter. What's going on at Tritt....
*This week the school store is open every morning from 7:20 am-7:50 am. Students may purchase small supplies and items. All proceeds to benefit the Rally foundation. *Thursday is an Early Release Day. Classes will dismiss starting at 12:15. ASP will be open until 6:00 pm. *Scholastic book fair is next week Monday-Thursday. It will be open every morning 7:20-7:55 am and then Monday-Thursday in the afternoons. *Conference week is next week. I will send reminders of our conference times. *Next week is also Box top week. If you have any box tops please send in next week. What's going on in 1st grade... *Reading- We have been practicing story elements and retelling details in independent reading. We are also beginning comparing fiction and nonfiction features. *Writing- We have been writing about fall break as well as writing about a small moment related to the fall season. *Math- We are working on measurement this week- comparing the length of different objects. We will also be starting subtraction later this week. *Science- We continue to work on weather this week. We will be making weather observations and recording them. We will also be talking about different kinds of precipitation and whether it is a solid or liquid. Welcome back everyone! I hope you all had a great fall break. I look forward to seeing the students back at school and seeing and hearing about their breaks. Reminder to send in a picture, email, or have student draw a picture telling about something from their break.

Please make sure to confirm times with me by returning bottom portion of form, so I can reschedule if needed. ASP will still be open until 6:00 pm everyday. Please make sure to confirm your conference time with me as well. If the time I gave you does not work, I will work with you to find a good time. This week in 1st grade...... *We will be going to the ILC on Monday so make sure your child returns their books. *I will be sending home permission slips Monday for our in house sound field trip on Monday October 30th. *Reading- We are working on retelling details from read aloud and independent text. We are working on recalling details sequentially from beginning, middle, and end of books. We are reviewing our diagraphs and working on the welded sounds -am and-an in words. *Writing- We will be writing about our fall breaks, small moment with an animal encounter, and writing about specific things we enjoy in the fall. We continue to work on our handwriting, spacing, capitalization, and punctuation. *Math- We continue to work on addition strategies. We are also working on addition in word problems. We are learning how to find important information in word problems and learning vocabulary that lets us know that we are adding to solve the problem. We will also be working on applying different strategies that we have learned. *Science- We are starting our unit on weather this week. We will start by reviewing seasons and learning about observing the weather. We will also learn about different types of precipitation. |
